Why did they try to delete the footage? 🕵️♂️ The truth behind Thomas Reid in Room 2114 is finally revealed... Part 2!
The fluorescent lights of St. Jude’s Memorial Ward blinked with an unsettling, arhythmic pulse, casting long, jagged shadows down the sterile hallway. It was 3:15 AM—the hour when the hospital seemed to hold its breath.
Nurse Sarah sat alone at the central desk, her eyes heavy as she reviewed the night's paperwork. The quiet was broken only by the rhythmic hum of distant monitors, until the heavy double doors at the far end of the corridor softly clicked open.
A tall man in a pale, crumpled hospital gown emerged. His gait was unhurried, mechanical, and eerily calm. His feet scraped lightly against the linoleum floor with a hollow, shuffling rhythm.
Sarah glanced up, her brow furrowing. "Sir? Which room did you come from?" she called out, stepping out from behind her desk. The man didn't answer, his hollow gaze fixed straight ahead as he continued toward her. "Hey, sir!" she raised her voice, a sudden, instinctual chill creeping down her spine.
As he neared the counter, Sarah instinctively recoiled, ducking behind the wooden desk as if trying to shrink away from the unnatural stillness surrounding him. Papers fluttered to the floor around her tremulous knees.
The man stopped directly in front of the counter, his pale eyes staring into the dark corner where she cowered.
"2114," his voice rasped, flat and devoid of any human resonance.
Before Sarah could respond, the lights flickered violently and a sharp static burst echoed from the security office down the hall.
Inside the monitoring room, Officer Davis sat staring in utter disbelief at his desk screens. He scrubbed his face, his fingers hovering over the keyboard as the door behind him slammed open. Detective Vance burst into the room, his coat damp from the rain outside, his expression grim.
Vance leaned heavily over Davis’s desk, eyeing the live security feed showing a man lying motionless on a bed in Room 2114.
"2114," Vance demanded, his voice trembling with hidden anger. "Why delete it?"
Davis looked up, his knuckles white against the desk. "Because Thomas Reed was never supposed to be admitted here."
Vance turned his gaze back to the screen. On the monitor, the figure lying in the bed of Room 2114 was completely still, his chest motionless. Slowly, Vance walked down the dim hallway and pushed open the heavy door labeled 2114.
The room was freezing. The air carried the faint, unmistakable metallic stench of decay. On the bed lay the body of Thomas Reed—pale, lifeless, and officially pronounced dead three hours prior.
Vance stepped closer, reaching out a trembling hand toward the cold bed frame. Suddenly, the monitor behind him began to beep erratically, flatlining into a single, terrifying tone. Vance whipped around, his eyes locking onto the empty hallway outside.
standing right behind the glass door was the same man—Thomas Reed—staring back at his own lifeless corpse on the bed, a slow, unnatural smile spreading across his face. The reflection in the glass showed no body at all.
