What will happen to that domestic helper?

INT. BALLROOM - NIGHT (CONTINUOUS)

The room is suffocatingly tense. Security guards freeze, guns half-raised. Guests stand paralyzed under the glitter of crystal chandeliers.

Ethan takes a cautious step forward, his hands raised, eyes locked on the sharp, broken stem of the champagne glass pressed against Clara’s throat.

ETHAN (Voice dangerously low) Adrian... how much did he pay you?

SIR ADRIAN (Voice trembling) It wasn't money, Ethan. It was survival. The Caldwell Foundation... your father left a shadow ledger. Millions diverted to Moreau’s clinics. If Clara remembered... if she regained her voting shares... we were all going to prison.

Vanessa chuckles—a sound devoid of warmth, echoing against the marble floor.

VANESSA She was supposed to stay buried in Antwerp. But Moreau got greedy. He rented her out through a third-party catering firm to keep her under observation. How poetic that her motherly instincts brought her right back to your feet.

CLARA (Wincing as the glass nicks her skin) You took... two years of my son's life.

VANESSA I took what should have been mine! You were a nobody, Clara! A quiet archivist who stumbled into a billionaire's heart. By midnight, when Ethan signed the merger documents, I would have controlled the estate. I was this close!

NOAH (Sobbing into Clara's shoulder) Mommy...

CLARA (Whispering to Noah, soft and steady) Shh... keep your eyes closed, baby. Mommy's here.

Suddenly, the side doors BURST open.

MARCUS (HEAD OF SECURITY) and three armed guards rush in, followed by DR. MARCUS HALE, who looks pale and bewildered.

MARCUS Mr. Caldwell! The perimeter is locked down, but—

VANESSA (Screaming) BACK OFF! Or I cut her right now!

Ethan’s eyes dart from Vanessa’s frantic grip to Clara’s calm, desperate eyes. Clara meets his gaze.

Without a word, a silent language passes between them—the same unshakeable trust they shared years ago.

CLARA (Softly, deliberately) Ethan... the moon song.

Ethan blinks.

CLARA (CONT'D) (Humming the final note) ...Four notes descending.

Vanessa’s focus shifts for a fraction of a second, confused by the words.

VANESSA Shut up!

That fraction of a second is all Ethan needs.

Ethan lunges forward. He grabs Vanessa’s wrist, twisting it sharply outward. The broken glass SHATTERS against the floor.

Clara instantly pulls Noah beneath her, shielding his body with hers.

Vanessa screams, attempting to strike Ethan with her free hand, but Ethan slams her wrist down against the nearest table, disarming her completely. Marcus and two guards tackle Vanessa to the marble floor, forcing her hands behind her back.

VANESSA (Writhing, screaming) Get off me! Ethan, you fool! You can't prove anything!

ETHAN (Cold as ice) The server logs, the Belgian wire transfers, and Moreau's testimony will prove everything.

He turns sharply toward Sir Adrian, who is backed against a marble pillar, pale and defeated.

ETHAN (CONT'D) Take him into custody. Put them both in the holding suite until the federal authorities arrive.

Guards seize Sir Adrian, who doesn't fight back as he is led away alongside a kicking, cursing Vanessa.

Silence falls over the ballroom once more.

Ethan slowly lowers himself to his knees on the cold marble floor.

Clara sits up, her hands trembling as she wipes Noah’s tears. A faint smear of blood marks her neck, but her green eyes are clear, shining with remembered light.

NOAH Daddy... Mommy didn't leave.

Ethan reaches out, his hand shaking as he gently touches Clara’s cheek—the first time in two painful years.

ETHAN (Whispering) You came home.

CLARA (Tears overflowing, smiling faintly) I didn't know where home was... until he called me Mommy.

Ethan pulls both of them into a tight, fierce embrace. Noah wraps his tiny arms around both of their necks, resting his head between them.

INT. MANSION STUDY - NIGHT (LATER)

The grand clock in the foyer begins to CHIME.

ONE. TWO. THREE... MIDNIGHT.

Outside the high arched windows, police lights flash in red and blue across the long estate driveway, reflecting off the damp stone.

Inside the quiet study, away from the chaos, a warm fire crackles in the hearth.

Clara sits on the leather sofa, a soft blanket wrapped around her shoulders. Noah is fast asleep in her lap, one small hand clutching her thumb securely.

Ethan stands by the desk, holding a thick leather-bound folder—the master deeds of the Caldwell estate and foundation.

He walks over and sits beside her. Without a word, he slides the document onto the table in front of her.

CLARA What is this?

ETHAN By midnight, Vanessa thought she would own this mansion. But the original trust deed states that upon my death or incapacitation, full ownership reverts to my wife. To you.

He takes her hand, placing the golden signet pen gently into her fingers.

ETHAN (CONT'D) The mansion no longer belongs to the man who built it. It belongs to the woman who saved our son.

Clara looks from the document to Ethan’s face, seeing the deep love and relief in his eyes.

CLARA (Softly) We have a lot of lost time to rebuild.

ETHAN We have all the time in the world.

Clara leans her head onto Ethan’s shoulder. He wraps his arm around her, resting his cheek against her hair as Noah breathes peacefully between them.

Outside, the last police cruiser drives down the long gates, taking the past away into the dark.

FADE OUT.
