Elena’s hands trembled as she grabbed the document. Stamped in red at the bottom was her original medical record, and beneath the forged signature of the head administrator lay her full legal name hidden inside the micro-printed registration codes: ELENA VOSS.

“They didn’t just steal your children,” Caden said, stepping so close she could feel the cold edge of his anger. “They charged me five million dollars to ‘dispose’ of a mother who never existed. Gary was paid off by the clinic director to keep you impoverished, broken, and silent so you would never ask questions.”

The shock tore through Elena, instantly burning away her sorrow and replacing it with a white-hot rage. She looked at Gary, who was watching nervously through the small glass window of the back door.

Caden noticed her gaze. “He fired you tonight.”

“He did,” Elena said, her voice steadying as she looked up into the eyes of the city’s most dangerous man.

“Then let’s rehire you,” Caden replied coldly. He motioned to Ortega, who stepped forward and handed him a heavy silver pen. “Starting tonight, you are coming home with your children. By dawn, the people who stole fourteen months of your life will realize they didn't just cross a waitress—they crossed me.”

Mira let out a happy squeal and reached for Elena again. This time, Elena didn't pull away. She stepped forward, unbuckled the harness, and lifted her daughter into her arms, pressing her face against the toddler's soft hair as Luca and Adrian reached for her apron.

Caden turned toward the diner door, his silence more lethal than a loaded gun.

“Ortega,” Caden ordered smoothly, opening the car door for Elena and their children. “Burn the clinic to the ground. But leave Gary for me.”
