The hundred-dollar bills hit Elena’s face like a physical slap, scattering across the polished marble floor of the corporate hallway. Mateo stood over her, his eyes wild with anger as he yelled cruel insults, trying to break her spirit right there in the open. Elena slowly lowered her hands, wiped away a stray tear, and looked up with a calm, resolute fire growing in her eyes. She refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing her break down.

Before Mateo could hurl another insulting remark, a shadow fell over them both. A tall, distinguished gentleman in a tailored black suit stepped between Elena and her attacker. It was Mr. Vance, the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Mateo’s highest superior. Mateo froze, his expression instantly shifting from arrogant rage to utter panic as the CEO glared at him with cold disappointment.

"Get away from her right now," Mr. Vance commanded, his voice echoing authoritatively down the corridor. Mateo stammered, attempting to make excuses and blame Elena, but Mr. Vance raised a single hand to silence him. He calmly pointed out that the entire corridor was monitored by high-definition security cameras, and every humiliation Mateo had just inflicted was fully recorded.

Turning to Elena, Mr. Vance offered a hand to help her stand, apologizing deeply for the unacceptable behavior she had endured in his office building. He then turned back to Mateo and delivered a swift, unyielding judgment: Mateo was fired immediately, effective on the spot, and security would escort him off the premises. Furthermore, Mr. Vance assured Elena that legal counsel would be made available to her if she wished to file charges for harassment.

Mateo stood paralyzed as security guards appeared to gather his belongings and escort him out, his career ruined in a matter of seconds. Elena, standing tall and dignified, looked at the scattered cash on the floor, took a deep breath, and walked away alongside the CEO, ready to leave the nightmare behind and step into a far brighter future.
