They thought they could silence him, but my phone held every proof. Watch Part 2 for the ultimate reveal!

INT. KITCHEN - NIGHT

Julian and Chloe sit at the kitchen table, looking over paperwork. They seem stressed.

The sound of footsteps approaching from the stairs. They immediately look up, putting on faux-cheery faces as Elena enters.

JULIAN Is Dad okay? Did he finally settle down?

ELENA (Smiling warmly, but her eyes are serious) Yes, he’s much calmer now. The bath helped.

Chloe relaxes slightly, crossing her arms again.

CHLOE Well, that’s good. We have a routine that works, Elena. Unexpected surprises throw everything off.

Elena walks to the table, standing over them. She glances at the folders of "proof."

ELENA You both have done so much for him. I had no idea.

Julian sighs theatrically, rubbing his temples.

JULIAN It’s been exhausting. But somebody had to step up.

Elena’s expression slowly changes. The softness disappears, replaced by a chilling calm. She pulls out her phone, holding it up. The screen is already lit with an active call screen, though the speaker is off.

ELENA Yes. And someone will have to step up for his legal and medical team tomorrow morning. Julian, do you remember what I actually do for a living?

Julian’s brow furrows, confused by the sudden shift. Chloe looks uneasy.

JULIAN You… work in data security. Something like that. For a tech firm.

ELENA A subsidiary of a large tech firm. But our division specializes in a very specific type of data recovery.

Elena taps her phone screen, switching it to an audio player.

ELENA (CONT'D) We specialize in retrieving deleted communication trails that people believe are long gone. Especially from encrypted messaging apps.

She presses "play."

A muffled, distinct recording plays from the phone.

RECORDING (CHLOE’S VOICE): “…the signature on the newest power of attorney doesn’t match the old one. We need him to sign the actual document again before the notary gets nervous.”

RECORDING (JULIAN’S VOICE): “Just tell him it’s for his health insurance update. If he argues, I’ll handle it. Remind him what happened last week when he ‘fell.’”

Julian freezes. His face goes pale. Chloe springs from her chair.

CHLOE (Screaming) Where did you get that? That's illegal! You can't record us!

ELENA (Voice icy and precise) I didn’t record that, Chloe. Your husband sent it to you three weeks ago via Signal. You deleted the thread. He deleted the thread. They thought it was gone. But I can retrieve everything. Everything you texted about. Every bank transfer. Every transaction made since Dad first asked about the missing money from his savings account.

Elena steps closer, the phone still held out.

ELENA (CONT'D) And while we were upstairs, Dad showed me the marks. The ones you were trying to hide.

Julian stands, a desperate, cornered animal look in his eyes. He lunges slightly, trying to grab the phone.

JULIAN Give that to me! You have no idea what you’re talking about!

Elena doesn’t flinch. She just looks at him, her eyes burning with cold rage.

ELENA (Whispering) Sit down.

He stops. The command in her voice is absolute. He slowly sits.

ELENA (CONT'D) You think you were protecting his legacy? You were destroying him. You were terrified he’d call me, so you isolated him. But you forgot one thing: I built my entire career on finding what people try hardest to hide.

Elena gestures to the folders.

ELENA (CONT'D) Take that paperwork. Tomorrow, Dad and I are going to his lawyer. He will be undoing every single one of these agreements. You will sign them immediately. And that money you took? The $15,000 you ‘borrowed’ for Chloe’s new car?

She taps the phone again, bringing up a screen with several red numbers and a list of transactions.

ELENA (CONT'D) You’re going to transfer it back. All of it. By the end of the week.

Julian starts to sputter.

JULIAN Or what? You’ll… you’ll go to the police? We can just say he gave it to us. It’s his signature!

Elena just smiles. It’s not a friendly smile.

ELENA Oh, the police will be involved. But not for the money. They’ll be here for the assault charges and the elder abuse. I’ve already taken photos of the bruising on his wrists. The pattern doesn't match a 'fall,' Julian. They match fingerprints. And those deleted texts? They're very specific.

Silence fills the kitchen. Julian and Chloe sit paralyzed.

ELENA (CONT'D) I’m taking Dad with me tonight. He needs proper care. We’re going to visit the hospital first for a full evaluation and to document everything. You will not contact him. You will not come near him.

She packs up her bag, grabbing the key documents from the table that she needs. She turns to Julian, her hand on the front door knob.

ELENA (CONT'D) You had him convinced he was easy to discredit because he was old. But you were the ones who were easy to expose because you got sloppy.

She looks at Chloe.

ELENA (CONT'D) And Chloe? I did call. I called his lawyer the minute I saw what you were doing. Surprise.

Elena exits, the front door closing with a firm CLICK.

JULIAN and CHLOE are left sitting in the silent kitchen, the deleted text recording still echoing.
