The ending for that family is here

INT. DINING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Adrian’s question hangs in the air, dripping with arrogant confidence. Dolores smirks, taking another slow sip from her crystal wine glass.

Elena looks at Adrian. A cold, terrifying calm settles over her face.

ELENA With my money, Adrian. The only money that exists in this house.

ADRIAN (Chuckles dismissively) Your money is our money, Elena. That’s how a marriage works. You can’t just walk out and cut us off.

Elena lowers Emma gently onto the sofa, wrapping her tightly in a thick wool coat. She turns back to the dining table, pulls out her phone, and dials a number on speakerphone.

The ring echoes through the silent room.

MAN’S VOICE (OVER PHONE) Good evening, Mrs. Marquez. This is Arthur Vance, head of wealth management at Blackwood Capital. How may I assist you?

ADRIAN (His smile faltering) Elena, what are you doing?

ELENA Arthur, I am calling to issue an immediate, emergency freeze on all secondary cards, credit lines, and joint disbursement accounts linked to my primary trust.

DOLORES (Dropping her fork, voice rising) What?! You can't do that!

ARTHUR (OVER PHONE) Understood, Mrs. Marquez. Initiating security protocol now. As the sole account holder and primary benefactor, your authorization is absolute. Would you like to terminate the residential lease payment schedule for the penthouse as well?

The room goes dead silent. The cousins stop chewing. Adrian’s brother freezes with a lobster claw halfway to his mouth.

ADRIAN (Pasting on a desperate smile) Arthur, wait—this is a misunderstanding. I’m her husband, Adrian Marquez.

ARTHUR (OVER PHONE) I know who you are, Mr. Marquez. However, the lease for the 14th-floor penthouse, the utility guarantees, and the secondary line of credit are exclusively backed by Mrs. Marquez’s executive compensation package. Without her active guarantee, the lease defaults immediately.

ELENA Cancel the lease guarantee, Arthur. Effective at midnight.

ARTHUR (OVER PHONE) Done, Mrs. Marquez. The property management team will be notified to revoke digital keycard access by morning. Is there anything else?

ELENA Transfer fifty thousand dollars to my private personal account for temporary lodging, and revoke all authorization for the Marquez family.

ARTHUR (OVER PHONE) Completed. Have a good evening, ma'am.

The line goes dead.

Dolores springs up from her chair, her face flushing bright red with outrage.

DOLORES You ungrateful, selfish woman! How dare you humiliate us like this?! My son built a life with you!

ELENA Your son hasn't held a job in three years, Dolores. You ate lobster bought with my bonuses. You drank five-hundred-dollar wine paid for by my late nights in Singapore. And while you gorged yourselves on my sweat, you locked my four-year-old child out in the freezing cold for asking for a piece of shrimp.

ADRIAN (Stepping forward, panicking) Elena, please... let's talk about this privately. We can fix this. Dolores was wrong, I see that now! Just cancel the freeze!

Elena steps toward the table. She picks up Adrian’s full glass of red wine, looks him straight in the eye, and tips it sideways over the center of the table.

The dark red liquid streams across the white tablecloth, soaking into the steak, the lobster, and the silver platters.

DOLORES (Screaming) The food!

ELENA (Voice icy and sharp as steel) Consider this dinner your severance package.

She turns her back on the stunned, pale faces around the ruined feast. She lifts her suitcase handle, then picks up Emma, who wraps her small, warm arms around her mother’s neck.

ADRIAN (Chasing her to the door, voice cracking) Elena! You can't just throw us out on the street! We have nowhere to go!

Elena stops at the threshold. She turns her head slightly, looking at her husband one last time with absolute indifference.

ELENA The balcony is open, Adrian. You said yourself... it builds discipline.

She steps into the hallway, pulling the heavy door shut behind her.

INT. MANSION HALLWAY - CONTINUOUS

The heavy slam of the door ECHOES down the corridor.

Inside the apartment, muffled shouts of panic and anger erupt, but outside, it is completely quiet.

Elena holds Emma close, feeling the warmth returning to her little girl's cheeks.

EMMA (Softly) Mommy... are we going home?

ELENA (Kissing Emma's forehead) Yes, baby. Anywhere with me is home now.

Elena walks down the long marble hallway toward the elevator, leaving the parasites behind in the dark.

FADE OUT.
