CHARACTERS:

AGENT CARTER (40s): FBI Special Agent leading a tactical assault team.

SCENE 1: THE TENSION BREAKS
INT. GOTHIC FUNERAL HALL - CONTINUOUS

VICTOR stands frozen, his revolver still aimed at LEO, but his face is pale with shock. The mobsters in the hall murmur in horror as ELENA’s muffled cries echo through the hall.

Leo throws his body over the shattered casket, desperately ripping the silver duct tape off his mother’s mouth.

ELENA

(Gasping violently, coughing)

Leo... my baby... run! Get out of here!

VICTOR

(Snapping back to rage, cocking his gun)

Silence! Neither of you is leaving this room alive!

Leo steps in front of his mother, placing his tiny body between Victor’s barrel and Elena.

LEO

(Glaring with fierce determination)

You lied to everyone! You said she died in a crash, but you buried her alive to steal our family!

SCENE 2: THE ASSAULT
INT. GOTHIC FUNERAL HALL - MOMENTS LATER

Before Victor can pull the trigger, the large stained-glass windows along the hall SHATTER simultaneously. Flashbang grenades burst through the glass, blinding the mobsters with deafening noise and white light.

TACTICAL OFFICERS (O.S.)

(Shouting over sirens)

FBI! DOWN ON THE GROUND! DROP YOUR WEAPONS!

SGL-clad SWAT officers stream into the hall. Chaos erupts as the mobsters drop their guns and raise their hands in surrender.

Victor attempts to grab Leo as a hostage, but AGENT CARTER rushes forward, tackling Victor to the ground and disarming his revolver in a swift motion.

AGENT CARTER

(Securing Victor in handcuffs)

It’s over, Victor. We tracked your illegal offshore accounts right back to this funeral home. You’re done.

SCENE 3: FREEDOM
INT. GOTHIC FUNERAL HALL - SUNSET

Medics hurry into the hall with a stretcher, but Elena pushes them aside, crawling out of the wooden casket. She collapses onto the red carpet, reaching out with trembling arms.

Leo runs into her embrace. Elena pulls him tight, kissing his head repeatedly as tears wash away the dust and bruises on her face.

ELENA

(Sobbing softly, pressing Leo to her heart)

You saved me, Leo... You saved my life.

LEO

(Whispering proudly)

I told them you were too strong to die, Mom.

Agent Carter walks up, draping a warm tactical blanket over Elena’s shoulders and giving Leo an approving nod.

AGENT CARTER

You’ve got a brave kid, ma'am. He never gave up on you.

Elena looks at Leo with absolute love as emergency lights pulse softly through the shattered windows, signaling the end of their nightmare.

FADE OUT.
